Le Britannique Chris Moorman a remporté l'Event #27 6-Max à 3000$ l'entrée et son premier bracelet en début de week-en. Terreur du poker sur Internet, il y a amassé plus de 14 millions de dollars, l'ambassadeur de 888 Poker encaisse presque 500.000$ pour porter son total de gains en live à 4,6 millions de dollars. Moorman s'est imposé après un ultime duel de presque 3 heures disputé devant un rail en folie.
Les Anglais sont toujours chaud pour faire du bruit... et quand un Brésilien se hisse en head's up, l'ambiance ne peut que monter.
Bernardo Dias termine finalement runner-up pour un gain de presque 310.000$. Autre tête d'affiche de la finale, l'Anglais Max Silver finit 6e pour 73 510$.
Le Fran?ais Julien Martini s'incline lui en 8e position. Comme le Danois Morten Mortensen (7e), il empoche un chèque de 53,569$. 21 joueurs ont participé au Final Day parmi lesquels Nacho Barbero (19e -18,019$), Samantha Cohen (17e -23,029$) ou encore Pratyush Buddiga (11e - 29,974$).
144 joueurs ont fait l'argent dont 7 Fran?ais. Jimmy Guerrero (64e - 6191$), Erwann Pecheux (67e - 5562$), Ga?lle Baumann (85e - 5 105$), Remy Biechel (111e - 4594$), Victor Choupeaux (126e - 4594$) et Julien Loire (130e - 4509$) ne sont pas repartis les mains vides...

Deux fois runner-up en 2011, Chris Moorman a du attendre sa 5e finale aux WSOP pour gagner. Il compte désormais 30 places payées aux Championnats du Monde, il y a amassé 2,4 millions de dollars... "Quand vous gagnez en live, c'est tellement plus réel. Vos copains sont là pour célébrer... quand j'habitais au Royaume-Uni, je jouais toute la nuit et j'étais tout seul quand je m'imposais sur les coups de 5 ou 6 heures du matin", a commenté Moorman, pas rassasié.
"Le festival est encore long, il y a beaucoup de tournois à jouer. C'est mon troisième cash et je me sens bien, j'ai la confiance. J'espère refaire une Table Finale et si ce n'est pas le cas je serais dans le rail. Pouvoir supporter un compatriote me rendrait d'ailleurs aussi heureux que de gagner", a poursuivi celui qui a bien profité des mésaventures de Silver.
Son compatriote a été le premier à quitter la finale, en jouant le pot du chiplead avec contre à tapis préflop... mais le sort a donné une à Michael Gagliano dès le flop !
Moorman s'est ensuite chargé du double vainqueur WSOP Steve Sung pour se positionner solidement en tête à 3 left. Il lui faudra une centaine de mains face à Dias pour conclure. Toujours derrière au chipcount, le brésilien va finir par open shove et s'empaler dans le de Moorman, enfin vainqueur au Rio !
